Been Awhile...

Here it is already 2010. I must confess, I actually forgot I had a blog :D Our internet has been down for a few months, and the only thing I've checked on my phone is Facebook and email. So much has happened since my last entry in June!

Alexis started Kindergarten on August 18th. She loves her class & teacher & just soaks up all that she is learning. She has made alot of friends. 15 out of the 20 students in her class are Amish, which is interesting for her. She had some trouble with two of them awhile back, but we prayed about it consistently for about two weeks, and one day she came home & was very excited that neither of them were picking on her anymore! We hear so much about bullying on tv, and it is something I worry about sometimes. She has such a loving personality & her feelings get hurt pretty easily when someone doesn't "like" her. She seems to have conquered that for this year & we still pray everyday before school.

Petra turned 4 in August. She had a birthday party at McDonald's with some of her little friends. That was pretty chaotic, but fun! She is still very tall for her age. It seems like I can't keep this girl in the same size for more than 4 months at a time. She keeps up with her big sister pretty easily! She had a hard time adjusting to Lexi going to school, since they were playmates for the past 4 years, but seems to enjoy her role as the oldest at home during the day. She is very helpful most days with the little sisters.

Nova will be 2 in March. So far, she has proven to be my hardest toddler. We are finally getting her switched over to the toddler bed, which isn't as hard as I thought it would be! She can be such a ham somedays! Lately, she's been getting these spurts of happy energy & will run into the living room to dance, jump, scream, & play practical jokes on anyone watching. Her laughter is totally contagious & her goofy grin brightens our days! There are days where Chris & I just look at each other & wonder what to do with her tantrums, but eventually she calms down & changes her attitude!

On September 8th, we had our 4th & final daughter. Genesis Makenna weighed in at a healthy 9 lbs, 2 oz & was 20 inches long. She is as beautiful as her sisters & I was only disappointed for about 5 seconds that she wasn't a he! Already at 4 months, she is a mama's baby, for sure! Her big sisters are all madly in love with her & help me out tremendously by bouncing her seat when she's fussy or making her laugh at their silly antics. I love watching her develop skills....right now, she is reaching for things like toys & plays with my hair as I feed her or put her to sleep. God has truly blessed us with this little girl. She is the perfect end to our childbearing years, as she smiles easily, sleeps soundly, & loves to cuddle! She may not have been in our plans this soon, but we couldn't be happier with her!

Chris continues to work at Keystone RV in Goshen. He has been off for 3 weeks over Christmas & we are both ready for a regular paycheck again. We are thankful that God has provided this job & been faithful to provide enough work that Chris was not laid off. March will be his 5th anniversary there.

I am still a stay-at-home mommy. There are days I prefer to cover my head & ignore the whining, but for the most part, I enjoy as many moments as I can. My girls give me a good glimpse of myself & keep me accountable to how I need to live my life. There are times when their crying gets on my nerves, but it also shows me how I must seem to God & how often he just lets me get over something in my own time. He lets me cry, he lets me whine, he listens to my complaints & ungratefulness & he understands that when I grow up, I will see that he always had my best interest at heart!

Hoping that all who read this are healthy & feeling blessed. Have a great week, month or year....depending on when I update this again!
